About PDF168
PDF168 is a free online toolkit for working with PDF files. It brings together more than 40 tools — to merge, split, rotate, organize, convert, compress, edit, sign, protect and OCR PDFs — in one fast, clean interface, available in 10 languages. There's no sign-up, no software to install, no watermark, and no file-size paywall.
Privacy comes first
Many of our tools — including Merge, Split, Rotate, Organize, Images↔PDF, Sign and more — run entirely inside your browser. Your files are processed locally on your own device and are never uploaded to a server, which makes them a safe choice for sensitive documents. A few heavier tools (such as OCR, Office conversions, and compression) run on a secure server over an encrypted connection; those files are processed and returned to you, not stored. Each tool's page tells you which mode it uses. You can read the full details on our Privacy page.
What you can do
Tools are grouped into Organize (merge, split, rotate, remove or reorder pages), Convert (PDF↔Word, Excel, JPG, PNG, PowerPoint, HTML and more), Edit (compress, crop, add page numbers, edit metadata, OCR), Security (password-protect, unlock, watermark, redact, sanitise) and AI (chat with a PDF, summarise, translate). New tools and how-to guides on our blog are added regularly.
How it works
Pick a tool, add your file, and download the result — usually in a few seconds. Because the browser-based tools need no upload-and-download round trip, they're quick even on a slow connection and keep working offline once the page has loaded.
How it's built
PDF168 is built with Astro and the open-source pdf-lib library for the in-browser tools, with an open-source server backend powering the heavier conversions, and it's hosted on Cloudflare's global edge network. We keep the experience free and ad-supported so anyone can use it.
