These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PDF168 (the "Service"), available at pdf-168.com. The Service is operated by Interstellar Digital Technology Limited (星際互聯數位科技有限公司), a company registered in Hong Kong (Business Registration No. 79203502) ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

PDF168 provides free online tools for working with PDF files. Many tools run entirely in your browser; some run on our secure server. We may add, change, or remove tools at any time.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• use the Service to process content you do not have the right to use, or that is illegal, infringing, or harmful;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
• use automated means to abuse the Service or resell it as your own without permission.

You are solely responsible for the files you process and for keeping your own backups.

3. Your files and privacy

For browser-based tools, your files are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to us. For server-based tools, files are sent over an encrypted connection, processed, and returned to you; they are not retained for longer than needed to perform the task. You keep all rights to your files. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Intellectual property

The PDF168 name, branding, and site content are owned by us. The Service is built in part on open-source software (such as the MIT-licensed pdf-lib and our open-source backend), which remains under its respective licences. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service. You retain all rights to the files you upload or create.

5. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any conversion or output will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose. Always verify important results.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Interstellar Digital Technology Limited and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or files, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

7. Third-party services

The Service displays advertising (including Google AdSense) and some tools rely on third-party or AI services to function. Your use of those features is also subject to the relevant third party's terms.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version, and continued use of the Service after changes means you accept them.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
