Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

The text is read from your PDF in your browser, then sent to an AI service to generate the summary. The file itself isn't stored, but the extracted text does leave your device for processing.

Can it summarize very long documents?

Yes. Long reports, theses and multi-chapter books are condensed into key points. For very large files the tool focuses on the most important sections so the summary stays clear and readable.

Is there a file size or page limit?

There's no hard page cap, but very large PDFs take longer and may be trimmed to fit the AI's context. Documents up to a few hundred pages typically summarize without trouble.

Does it work for scanned PDFs?

It summarizes the selectable text inside a PDF. Image-only scans without an OCR text layer have nothing to read, so run OCR first to make the document's text available.

Should I use it for confidential documents?

Because the extracted text is sent to an AI service for processing, avoid uploading sensitive contracts, medical or legal files you can't share with a third party. Use non-confidential documents instead.
