What does the flatten option do?
Flattening turns your answers into permanent page content and removes the interactive fields, so nobody can edit or clear the entries afterwards. Use it when you are submitting a final copy — for example to a landlord, an employer or a government office. Keep an unflattened version if you may need to revise the answers later.
Are my answers or documents saved anywhere?
No. Detection, filling and saving all happen locally in your browser. Your answers never leave your device, no copy is stored on a server, and nothing is logged by us. That makes the tool suitable for tax forms, medical paperwork and contracts — though you should always keep your own copy of the completed file.
Why were some fields not detected in my form?
Two common causes: the PDF is a scan with no field layer, or it uses a dynamic XFA form, which some government agencies still publish. XFA and certain scripted forms are not supported. If fields are missing, fall back to Sign PDF or Edit PDF to place the text manually, and check the finished document page by page.
Do checkboxes, radio buttons and dropdowns work too?
Text fields, checkboxes and dropdown menus are supported directly. Some heavily scripted forms use custom controls that behave unpredictably outside their original software — if a checkbox will not hold its state, place a cross or signature over it with Sign PDF instead, and verify the result in a standard reader before submitting.
